Overview

The COE Accounting Manager is a key player in our financial team and will dive into challenging and stimulating global accounting tasks leading HireRight’s new Center of Excellence (COE) accounting team. You will take the lead in implementing and overseeing accounting for debt, accounts payable, accruals, fixed assets, cash, and SG&A expense for the company’s global operations under US GAAP. Your role extends beyond numbers – youll be at the forefront of shaping and mentoring a talented new team of COE accountants. Responsibilities

  • Lead training and development for a new team of approximately 3 COE accountants.
  • Oversee monthly close process to ensure timely reporting of metrics and financial statements.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of global consolidated financial statements including debt (ASC 470), fixed assets (ASC 360), cash (ASC 305), commitments (ASC 440), contingencies (ASC 450), and guarantees (ASC 460).
  • Collaborate with FP&A to assist in budgeting and forecasting for relevant P&L line items.
  • Review schedules and conduct analysis to support month-over-month fluctuations for accounts.
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to accurately account for assigned areas and explain fluctuations.
  • Review and approval of complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure all financial controls are performed and all procedures are followed in accordance with the companys narratives and accounting policies.
  • Implement best practices and new systems, drive continuous improvement and proactively recommend efficient solutions.
  • Ensure that auditor requests are provided in a timely manner, and that follow-up items are quickly addressed to ensure the audit engagement/report are completed on time.
  • Draft or review technical accounting memos in accordance with US GAAP standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Highly detail and deadline oriented
  • Chartered Accountant
  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience
  • At least 6 years accounting experience with at least 2 years of people management experience
  • Solid understanding of modern project management techniques such as Agile and Lean
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
  • Experience with BlackLine (Recons, Tasks, Journals, Matching) preferred
  • Advanced Word, PowerPoint, Excel (Pivots, V-lookups, graphs)
