Accounting Manager
Location Rzeszów-Jasionka (on-site)

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting function for Heli-One Poland, an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) organization within the aviation sector. This role oversees a team of 2-3 accountants and ensures that all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The incumbent will drive month-end and year-end close processes, maintain financial integrity, and provide key insights to management through analysis and collaboration across operational, procurement, and corporate departments.
Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 2-3 accountants responsible for accounts payable, general ledger, and reporting activities.
- Coordinate the accounting function to ensure compliance with company policies, Polish statutory requirements, and IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Manage workload distribution and support professional development within the accounting team.
Month-End and Year-End Close
- Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, intercompany, payables, receivables, and accruals.
- Lead variance analyses and provide commentary on key balance sheet and P&L movements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Transactional Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee VAT returns, tax filings, and regulatory submissions (including National Bank reporting).
- Ensure compliance with Polish statutory requirements, including the Accounting Act (Ustawa o rachunkowości), VAT Act (Ustawa o podatku od towarów i usług), and Tax Ordinance (Ordynacja podatkowa), while maintaining alignment with IFRS for group reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely foreign currency revaluations, intercompany eliminations, and financial adjustments.
- Maintain internal controls and support continuous improvement of accounting processes.
- Driving implementation of the Ksef system and ensuring smooth transition.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to ensure accurate financial tracking of ongoing MRO projects and inventory.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions and improve cost control within the organization.
- Act as the key accounting liaison between Heli-One Poland and corporate finance teams, ensuring alignment with global policies and reporting deadlines.
Continuous Improvement & Systems
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting cycle.
- Support system upgrades, data integrity reviews, and standardization initiatives across the finance function.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience in an aviation, engineering, or MRO environment strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Polish GAAP and local accounting, tax, and VAT legislation, including the Polish Accounting Act and related regulations.
- Familiarity with IFRS and ability to reconcile local GAAP to group reporting requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Fluent in Polish and English (spoken and written).
- High attention to detail, accountability, and a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Must have legal right to live and work in Poland.
