What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead comprehensive financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with local and group standards.
- Oversee the end-to-end monthly and annual local closing processes in compliance with Polish GAAP and reconciliation with group IFRS accounts.
- Manage external audits and coordinate group reporting obligations, ensuring transparency and adherence to accounting/regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance environment through regular coaching, performance evaluations, and targeted development plans.
- Maintain and enhance local internal accounting policies, controls, and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax, compliance, and IT, to ensure seamless data flow and system integration.
- Drive automation initiatives within the accounting function, leveraging technology to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
- Provide strategic insights and support ad hoc projects, such as system upgrades, process improvements, and regulatory changes.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 5 years of senior accounting experience in the insurance industry (a similarly complex financial environment might be considered).
- In-depth knowledge of Polish GGAP and its regulations and legal framework related to accounting.
- Familiarity with SAP systems is considered an advantage.
- Demonstrated success in managing external audits, regulatory reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis tools, with proven ability to design and implement automation solutions to streamline processes.
- Fluency in Polish (C1 level) and English (B2/C1 level), with excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, complemented by a strategic mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, international environment, managing multiple priorities with resilience, autonomy, and professionalism.
