Accountant (m/f)
Location: Wrocław
Purpose Of The Role
Accountant performs accounts receivable activities in the financial ERP system in a timely and consistent manner, in accordance with operational procedures. To improve the efficiency of the accounting processes, the Accountant identifies potential improvements and actively participates in standardization and optimization initiatives.
Accountant maintains good relationships with customers and responds promptly to their inquiries, cooperating with other affiliate teams and escalating complex issues to the Deputy Chief Accountant and Chief Accountant as appropriate.
Apart from the core AR responsibilities, exposure to AP processes may also be part of the role; therefore, knowledge of AP accounting will be considered an asset.
Principal Accountabilities & Key Activities
- Perform daily transactional accounting activities in ERP financial system (e.g., booking customers invoices an credit notes, accounts reconciliation and invoice verification)
- Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner based on contracts, or services rendered (performed on an occasional basis, approx. a few to a dozen invoices per month)
- Monitor incoming payments and follow up on outstanding payments according to company policy
- Reconcile accounts receivable subledger with the general ledger
- Contact customers regarding overdue invoices and payment discrepancies
- Identify overdue balances and prepare regular reports on receivables status for management
- Identify improvement opportunities and actively participate in process excellence initiatives to further develop accounting processes
- Timely respond to customers inquires cooperating with other affiliate teams if necessary
- Assist in the preparation, analysis, and validation of financial data for statutory financial statements and other internal and external reports
- Ensure accounting process documentation (SOP, WI, user manuals etc) is up to date and compliant with corporate and regulatory standards
- Deal with ad-hoc operational and administrative requests from direct and indirect supervisors and other internal stakeholders
Key Skills & Qualifications
- University degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting/Economy or similar
- At least 3+ years of experience in accounting processes
- Knowledge of any ERP financial system (SAP)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to details
- Good communication skills
- Good English skills
- Ability to work under pressure to short deadlines
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word etc.)
- Previous experience in SSC environment will be an asset
