The General Ledger Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and be adept at working with multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.



What youll do:



  1. General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and reconciling financial transactions, including accruals, prepaids, and allocations. Ensure all transactions are properly documented and accounted for in accordance with accounting principles.
  2. Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring that all entries are accurate, and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  3. Month-End and Quarter-End Close: Assist with the preparation and execution of month-end and quarter-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, adjustments, and financial reports.
  4. Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure all reports are compliant with relevant accounting standards and provide insights into financial performance.
  5. Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in the development and implementation of process improvements.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to general ledger and financial reporting processes. Implement best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the accounting function.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance, to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve any issues related to the general ledger.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS) and internal policies. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.


What youll bring to the team:



  1. Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus but not required.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a corporate or SaaS environment. Hands-on experience with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  3. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS). Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems.
  4. Bonus Skills: Familiarity with process automation, internal controls, and experience supporting audits.
  5. Personal Attributes: Self-starter with strong attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
