About The Client
Our client is a fast-growing fintech company developing solutions that bridge traditional finance with crypto. They are entering a new growth phase and are building a structured account management function to strengthen client relationships and maximize revenue. To achieve this, they are hiring an Account Management Lead who will define the AM framework, manage top-tier clients, and grow a team to deliver measurable impact.
Role Overview
As Account Management Lead, you will design and scale the entire account management function — from client segmentation and onboarding to retention and upselling. You will personally handle key business clients in the beginning, while building a team of Account Managers and Key Account Managers to ensure sustainable growth. This is a senior strategic role requiring deep fintech experience, a strong professional network, and the ability to balance revenue focus with exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and build the AM function, including client segmentation and AM vs KAM split.
- Personally manage strategic client accounts until the team is in place.
- Set up onboarding, renewal, QBR, and upsell processes.
- Hire, mentor, and lead the first AM/KAM team members.
- Establish KPIs such as NRR, churn %, upsell revenue, and client NPS.
- Align AM with Sales, Support, and Product to avoid overlap and friction.
- Drive revenue growth via cross-sell, upsell, and expansion within existing accounts.
- Build AM playbook and reporting dashboards for churn, retention, and upsell pipeline.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences, expanding the client network.
- Deliver measurable retention uplift and client success milestones within the first year.
Requirements
- 5–10 years in account management, customer success, or B2B client services in fintech, banking, payments, or crypto.
- Proven experience managing enterprise accounts and leading AM/KAM teams.
- Strong understanding of onboarding, account health monitoring, and upselling strategies.
- Active professional network in the fintech/payments industry.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) and reporting dashboards.
- Ability to travel regularly across Europe for client meetings and events.
