In Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Client Services we are building inhouse solutions to support the onboarding and KYC activities of our customers. Amongst other things, we are building client facing applications for users to manage their activities with HSBC and orchestration capabilities to reduce the time it takes for clients and staff to complete these activities.
In this role, you will be driving engineering excellence across a global team to transform both the culture and the technology across our KYC applications. This role expects you to be hands-on engineering, leading our software delivery teams by example to build a first-in-class solution that’s iteratively delivered into the hands of our users. It also expects you to be influencing the wider group of engineers, architects and the business to ensure we are building the right products in the right ways.

,[Work closely with the CIB Client Services Engineering Leadership team, leading the engineering transformation across our Customer Due Diligence application., Design and build solutions using microservice architecture, working closely with the product team to understand requirements and impact of changes being made., Lead by example, delivering solutions at high cadence for the build out of both new functionality and the replacement of legacy systems whilst also supporting other teams to achieve the same., Work to release change to production every day, owning requirements through discussions with the business through to development, testing, release to and support of production., Lead engineering excellence and the development of a strong engineering culture across our teams – influencing behaviours and removing barriers within the teams., Manage the team of developers and overlooking their work across different initiatives. , Be responsible for building highly productive teams of technically talented engineers and take ownership of technical delivery for their team., Leadership/mentorship over the team.
