Role Purpose & Impact
As Tech Lead – Web Platforms, you’ll be the technical anchor for PMI’s global web presence, ensuring our flagship sites—including PMI.com, pmiscience.com, unsmokeyourworld.com, and pmiprivacy.com—remain secure, reliable, and high‑performing. These platforms collectively reach millions of visitors each month, serving as the digital front door to our company’s vision, science, and transformation journey.
You’ll lead a focused team of software engineers, acting as the technical enabler for a broader group of content creators, developers, and business partners. Your work will empower these teams to deliver impactful content and experiences at scale, supporting major campaigns, launches, and ongoing business needs.
Your Day-to-Day
- Technical Leadership: Guide your engineering team in maintaining and evolving the web platform’s architecture, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
- DevOps & Automation: Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and streamline operations using modern DevOps tools and practices.
- Security & Compliance: Champion security across all web properties, deploying measures such as WAF, DDoS protection, and regular audits to safeguard data and user trust.
- CDN & Performance: Optimize content delivery and site speed using leading CDNs (Akamai, Route53), proactively addressing performance bottlenecks and ensuring seamless experiences for global audiences.
- Platform Reliability: Monitor and maintain the health and uptime of high‑traffic websites, managing incident response and driving continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with content producers, developers, and business teams, providing technical guidance and support to enable efficient content creation and delivery.Mentorship & Growth: Foster a culture of learning and collaboration within your team, mentoring engineers and encouraging innovation.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance platform capabilities, introduce new tools, and refine processes to support evolving business needs.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands‑on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and AWS.
- Solid experience as a software engineer (typically 5+ years).
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Go, JavaScript, C#, or Python).
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams, with a collaborative and supportive approach.
- Practical knowledge of DevOps, security, and CDN solutions for large‑scale web platforms.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Jenkins, SonarQube, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).Understanding of web security measures (WAF, DDoS protection).
- Experience with CDNs (Akamai, Cloudflare).
- Exposure to multi‑brand, multi‑market web environments.
