The TransPerfect TechOps team has been a vital part of the company’s success since its formation 10 years ago – delivering technology and services that have drastically simplified the lives of our clients and colleagues – from workflow improvements for colleagues to core services that form the basis of the company’s GlobalLink platform.

As a Database Administrator, you will work directly with the senior developers team to design, test, plan, protect, and implement our department’s databases.

Your responsibilities and tasks will include:

1. Managing locking, process blocking, and performance tuning of our databases
2. Creating and maintaining a high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture
3. Managing, optimizing, testing, and verifying the backup and restoration processes
4. Creating and maintaining monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards to give both high-level and granular insight into database performance and operation
5. Managing our infrastructure in a preventative manner, considering and avoiding potential future issues
6. Handling support tickets when necessary, backing up your peers
7. Developing and deploying new database objects and changes to existing database objects including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.
8. Creating complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development
9. Designing, developing, and maintaining a multitude of complex relational database reports using SSRS

The minimum we’re looking for:

1. Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL
2. Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, support tooling
3. Knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions
4. Advanced knowledge of how to optimize MSSQL, support HA/DR, etc.
5. Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design
6. Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is a plus
7. Analyze, troubleshoot, and break down complex problems
8. Choose appropriate tasks to work on relative to our current workload
9. Understand and implement best practices balanced with our team standards
10. Clearly communicate ideas, thoughts, and suggestions to manager and peers
11. Participate, review, and offer constructive criticism to peers’ changes and code
12. Experience with cloud database storage technologies
