Senior Wind Power Plant Mechanical Engineer

Our client is an international corporation specializing in global design, engineering, and advisory solutions, collaborating with a diverse portfolio of renowned brands. We are currently seeking a Senior Wind Power Plant Mechanical Engineer to take a leading role in designing and optimizing mechanical systems for wind energy projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply principles of thermodynamics, energy conversion, and mechanical efficiency to optimize turbine performance.
  • Design and develop specifications for mechanical drive trains, including gearboxes, direct drive systems, and bearings, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Conduct simulations and analyze turbine components using FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL) under various load and operational conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address site-specific requirements for wind turbines and structures.
  • Coordinate with environmental, civil, and structural engineers to integrate mechanical solutions seamlessly.
  • Optimize turbine placement and evaluate energy production considering wind data and site-specific factors.
  • Lead vendor coordination, ensuring the mechanical components meet project standards and performance criteria.
  • Develop maintenance strategies to improve turbine reliability and lifecycle performance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in wind power plant engineering, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
  • Expertise in feasibility-level projects and mechanical component optimization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Deep understanding of turbine mechanical systems, including drive trains, bearings, and gearboxes.
  • Fluent in both Polish and English languages.
  • Proficiency in using FEA software for component simulation and stress analysis.
  • Familiarity with wind turbine technology, including nacelles, blades, and towers.
  • Strong coordination skills to work with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Ability to produce detailed guidelines and specifications for subcontractors.
  • Experience with wind energy simulation tools like WindPRO, HOMER, or WAsP is advantageous.
