Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Study how Chromebooks work in firmware components, the Linux kernel, and userspace (ChromeOS and Android).
  • Develop new power and performance features, collaborate upstream, and assist partners in debugging related bugs.
  • Communicate regularly with partners and project managers to set goals and track progress.
  • Participate in feature planning, cross-team meetings, and bug triage and fixing.
  • Identify and fix problems in firmware, kernel, and userspace, working with partners to develop features and resolve bugs.
