Your new company 

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our client, an international company based in Katowice. This is a hybrid role that requires attendance in the office twice a week.


Your new role 

Holding the position of Senior Data Engineer you will take a leading role in developing and maintaining the data infrastructure, with a strong focus on building efficient ETL/ELT processes. You will support BI developers and data scientists in delivering impactful data and analytics solutions, while working closely with product owners and senior stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements. A key responsibility will be managing the ingestion and processing of enterprise-wide data through a medallion architecture, in close collaboration with the Data Engineering Lead to enhance the overall data engineering framework. You will also be responsible for optimizing scheduled data pipeline jobs, implementing robust data management practices to improve data quality and metadata, and applying software engineering best practices such as version control (Git) and CI/CD (DevOps). Your role will involve continuous innovation to strengthen the data foundation and careful monitoring of cloud-related costs associated with data processing and computation.

What you'll need to succeed 

The ideal candidate will bring over 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field, supported by university degree in IT related field. A strong command of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, particularly services like Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Storage is essential, along with advanced expertise in Azure Databricks and Delta Lake. You should be well-versed in medallion architecture and other industry best practices, and have hands-on experience with relational databases such as SQL Server. Proficiency in coding with PySpark and SQL is required, as is familiarity with version control systems like Git and unit testing methodologies. The ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient, scalable code and to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders is crucial. Experience working in agile environments and within Scrum teams will also be highly valued. Fluency in English is essential, as you will be working in an international environment and collaborating with global teams.
