Senior Control Manager (Shared Services – Control MI Reporting Product and Quality)
- Deliver a Control MI and Reporting quality assurance and continuous improvement service to the CCO Shared Services products.
- Provide expertise and ownership through proactive customer engagement, across functions/teams cooperation enabling the team to contribute and deliver desired products.
- Ensure robust documentation and processes are in place to enable smooth operations and enhancements.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the GCIO function, Operational teams, Data teams, Risk and Control, and Compliance to ensure alignment on quality expectations and reporting requirements.
- Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between business, technology, and data teams to resolve issues and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products with continuous refinement of product features and processes, based on performance data, stakeholder feedback.
- Conduct product-level reviews and validation to confirm alignment with data quality, risk control, and business requirements before release.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence by recommending best practices and improvements to data pipelines, report generation, and distribution processes.
Our requirements
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience with one or more or the control capabilities in the Technology and Cyber domain either directly or as a 1/2/3LOD control management function.
- Understanding of Risk and Control Management concepts, Key Control Indicators, Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance indicators and their use in Technology Risk and Control management.
- Experience of service ownership, product definition, product delivery and operational excellence is necessary.
- Demonstrable experience in identifying, defining and solving complex problems with clear commercial value, particularly in areas related to risk management and minimizing HSBCs wide impact.
- Previous experience leading teams required with remote team leadership experience preferred.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to handle and prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to influence and challenge stakeholders.

About the role
- The GCIO Chief Control Office (CCO) team plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management. We do this by providing operational risk and control expertise, specialist technical knowledge and a deep understanding of the businesses and functions we serve.
- Key activities include implementation and oversight of the Group’s Risk Management Framework, ongoing and targeted controls assessments, implementing and maintaining robust risk governance, and championing a proactive risk culture. GCIO CCO works closely with partners across all lines of defense and is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with our regulators and external partners.
- GCIO CCO Shared Services Team will work on improvement of existing ways of working, tools and processes for risk and control management
