As a Senior API Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the API platform of the future. Working closely with Product and Engineering teams, you will help drive the transition to a scalable, decoupled, API-driven architecture. Along the way, you will evangelize modern API best practices and ensure that the software developed is of the highest quality.

responsibilities :

Build a new API platform from the bottom up. This will involve both new components and integration to existing components.
Partner directly with Engineering teams, assisting them to decouple from shared databases and rebuild their systems based on modern API principles.
Play a key role in raising awareness and supporting adoption of industry best practice and emerging trends, particularly relating to API development and application integration.
Lead a small team of high performing engineers

requirements-expected :

Strong hands-on experience of RESTful web services and developing Web APIs and supporting technologies and practices.
Hands-on experience working with messaging solutions e.g. Kafka and developing asynchronous integration between services.
Deep knowledge of software engineering modern agile methodologies and SDLC approaches including domain-driven design, trunk-based development, test-driven development, acceptance test-driven development, and consumer-driven contract testing.
Strong programming experience with one or more of Java, Go, Python, or TypeScript
Proficient working with Relational Databases and querying with SQL
Working experience with one or more of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (AWS Preferred)
Positive and inclusive communicator and collaborator.
Experience in building and leading motivated, high-performing teams working in an agile environment.
A hands-on driver rather than theoretical talker with a clear focus on delivery and what pushes the organization forward.
Some knowledge of sports is desirable.
