• Advise the General Manager and executive leadership on risk policies, risk identification, assessment and calibration, and decision‑making within the internationally established risk appetite.
• Maintain – as delegated by the Head of Risk – the country’s Risk Appetite statement and tolerance levels to support delivery of the in‑country strategy and as part of the DaVita International governance framework.
• Monitor adherence to the Risk Appetite and propose changes in response to internal or external factors.
• Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of functional governance frameworks (Clinical, Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, Compliance, People Services) and their alignment with country governance.
• Coordinate risk assessments across clinical, operational, financial, legal and IT risks within an integrated risk management framework.
• Manage the Country Risk Committee, overseeing country governance for Risk, Compliance, Clinical, Operations, Legal, IT, Finance, People Services, incident reporting, policies and procedures, and the Country Risk Register.
• Report and escalate risks to the international level in line with the established reporting cadence.
• The role holder will work extensively with local Functional Leaders to maintain risk frameworks and build capabilities in‑country. This task will require travel and extensive engagement, training and support within local operations.

Our requirements

• Experience in corporate governance and/or risk management, preferably within a reputable organization.
• University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional qualifications in risk management are an advantage.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Strong ability to build relationships with senior management and teams across different regions.
• High organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Proven leadership ability and experience in building a culture of risk awareness.
• Proactive, innovative, and pragmatic mindset with strong critical and independent thinking skills.

Background

• The Risk function at DaVita International commenced in late 2023, establishing Risk reporting and assessments before rapidly expanding to oversee the conduct of the Risk Management Committee and the development of International and Functional Governance Frameworks. These pillars constitute the foundation of the governance model across DaVita International.
