THE ROLE:
The Photovoltaic Engineer supports all phases of photovoltaic power plant projects - from design and development through construction and O&M - working closely with Commercial, Project, and Operations teams and other key stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and reliable plant operation. The role also contributes to the development of photovoltaic solution proposals for Poland and involves researching new technical options to strengthen the company’s offerings to clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Contribute to the technical definition of photovoltaic projects at every stage, ensuring technical relevance and facilitating coordination among all involved parties.
2. Participate in pre-sales activities with the Sales team by:
- Defining PV system concepts and preparing preliminary plant designs.
- Producing layouts, energy-yield estimations, feasibility studies, single-line diagrams, and calculation notes.
- Analyzing building consumption and self-consumption rates.
- Selecting equipment (modules, inverters, structures, monitoring systems).
- Performing electrical sizing (cables, protections, cable routing).
- Defining grid-connection solutions for self-consumption or LV/MV public networks.
- Developing technical documents for public and private tenders.
- Supporting budgeting and cost estimation aligned with business plans.
- Assisting Sales during client meetings and conducting site visits in Poland.
- Conduct feasibility, cost-estimation, and implementation analyses for photovoltaic solutions, providing technical studies that support business plans and client development in pre-sales stages.
3. Support project development and construction by:
- Participating in permitting processes with municipalities and DSOs.
- Drafting technical specifications.
- Analyzing supplier offers and reviewing technical clauses in contracts.
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor engineering documentation.
- Supporting construction, commissioning, and connection phases of PV projects.
- Implementing plant monitoring systems prior to handover to Asset Management.
- Analyze production data and contribute to the optimization of existing photovoltaic plants and services, developing new analytical tools when needed.
4. Contribute to the development of the Engineering Department in Poland by:
- Improving internal processes and tools.
- Conducting technical and regulatory monitoring and benchmarking to ensure competitive, innovative, and cost-efficient solutions.
- Supporting partnerships and subcontractors in delivering project activities.
- Following up on corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
- Ensuring all activities comply with the QMS, organizational procedures, and Helexia’s best practices and policies
PROFILE:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Energy, Renewable Energy, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of PV systems.
SKILLS:
- Expertise in technical practices, modeling, and processes required for PV and electrical engineering.
- Knowledge and experience with PV simulation and CAD software (PVsyst, Helioscope, PVSol, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Strong technical skills combined with adaptability, rigor, and a sense of responsibility.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Customer-oriented mindset and attention to detail to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Field experience is considered an asset.
- Passion for renewable energy and motivation to contribute to a growing and ambitious organization.
- Fluency in Polish and English for daily interactions with colleagues, clients, and suppliers
