The candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of the procurement of spares, stores, services for his/her assigned vessels/projects.
- Process requisitions received in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor vessels’ schedules and provide timely status updates of each requisition and the delivery status to vessels and relevant stakeholders.
- Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Review all Purchase orders, requisitions and quotes for applicability, correctness, compliance.
- Research and select suppliers, review bid proposals, negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority, execute agreements.
- Determine the most cost-effective means of supply at various ports and capable of pro-active planning by taking into consideration the urgency of the spares and next feasible location for the delivery of the spares.
- Track orders and ensures orders are delivered on time and at cost.
- Work closely with logistics groups to ensure on-time receipt and delivery of shipments; arranges for transportation and/or storage of purchased products.
- Once delivery is completed, follow up with vessel for delivery confirmation and to follow up with suppliers if there are any discrepancies on the items received.
- Verify invoices for payment in case of discrepancies recorded.
- Perform other related duties assigned by Purchasing Manager.
