Product Owner

Your new company 

For our client, an international company based in Prague, Czech Republic, we are currently looking for a Product Owner with a strong software development background to work in a hybrid model (three days per week in the office).
As the Product Owner, you will manage the product roadmap and backlog, prioritize feature requests, and collaborate with internal customers and contributors. Your software development experience will help you assess complexity, understand technical challenges, and make informed decisions.You will join a team of four developers and two testers, supported by an assigned Scrum Master and a designer. You will report directly to the Engineering Team Lead.

Your new role 

• Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the UI Toolkit from a product functionality standpoint.
• Manage and prioritize the team’s backlog using tools such as Jira, Jira Align, JAMA, and Confluence.
• Take part in Program Increment (PI) planning and participate in regular Scrum ceremonies.
• Collaborate closely with managers, designers, and engineering teams to refine requirements, coordinate dependencies, and establish priorities.
• Convert business and user needs into well-defined, actionable features, leveraging your technical knowledge to assess feasibility and complexity.
• Apply your development background to contribute meaningfully to technical planning and discussions.
• Engage in feature scoping and assist in breaking down technical tasks.
• Provide support to teams adopting the toolkit, ensuring smooth integration and usage.
• Perform final validations to confirm that delivered code meets acceptance criteria.
• Join technical spikes to investigate potential solutions and reduce uncertainty.
• Help triage issues and assist in prioritizing fixes.
• Offer hands-on coding support when needed - through code reviews, bug fixes, builds, or test execution - especially during critical project phases.

What you39ll need to succeed 

• A university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in software development or testing, particularly with front-end or web-based applications.
• Previous experience as a Product Owner or in a similar leadership role (e.g., Team Lead, Tech Lead), even in a hybrid capacity (e.g., part-time developer, part-time PO).
• Solid understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
• Fluency in both Czech and English.
• Ability to engage in technical discussions and effectively translate business needs into engineering deliverables.

Nice to have

• Development experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with component libraries and design systems.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience using GitLab.
• Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, and JAMA.
• Exposure to end-to-end testing, unit testing, and participating in code reviews.
