Do you want to be a part of a growing M&E team? Can you collaborate with colleagues across UK and International projects? Are you experienced in Mechanical Infrastructure Design? Then, this could be the next adventure in your career.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer with a background in water and environmental engineering (Water Utilities). In this role, you will work on consulting projects by designing and improving piping systems related to water utilities. Use your engineering skills to create sustainable solutions. Make a difference in the mechanical engineering field – apply today!

Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with a background in Water Utilities to strengthen our mechanical capabilities on infrastructure projects. You will lead the delivery of mechanical design solutions for water supply and wastewater infrastructure, including pressurised mains, pumping stations, and treatment works equipment. Working in a dynamic, global design environment, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across various locations. Opportunities may also arise to contribute to broader MEP initiatives or take on client-facing/site-based roles within major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor the mechanical design team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
• Oversee the complete design lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and timely deliverables
• Drive recruitment efforts and support team development through coaching and structured growth plans
• Manage design planning and coordination with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders
• Uphold technical excellence, leveraging relevant tools and aligning with UK/international design standards
• Cultivate strong client relationships while guiding junior engineers through hands-on mentorship
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment on project goals and design outcomes
• Contribute to business development through proposal input, technical presentations, and client demos

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you’ll have:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Chartered Engineer status (UK or equivalent) is advantageous
  • Proven experience in mechanical systems design, including water-based systems (e.g., pumping stations, pressurised mains, treatment works)
  • Skilled in hydraulic modelling, stress and support calculations, and applying CDM2015 regulations
  • Ability to deliver technically sound solutions independently and lead discipline-specific tasks
  • Familiarity with WIMES and mechanical equipment such as lifting gear, actuated gates, and building services
  • Experience with 3D/BIM design and design-build projects, including potential site representation
