The Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing payroll processes and ensuring high standards, guaranteeing both operational excellence and full compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day payroll processing activities within the defined scope
- Collect, validate, and upload payroll inputs such as time, absence, overtime, deductions, variable pay, bonuses, final settlements, and corrections (where applicable)
- Run standard payroll checks, compare input versus output, identify discrepancies, and prepare correction files
- Support payroll run validation (pre- and post-processing), reporting, and query resolution
- Prepare standard files and documentation, including payslips, bank files, GL files, payroll reports, and support local declarations where applicable
- Manage routine employee queries and case updates, escalating complex or sensitive issues to the Senior Specialist/ Payroll Lead
- Create and monitor vendor/ HRIS tickets related to incidents, data issues, and payroll processing errors
- Maintain accurate records, follow SOPs, respect payroll cut-offs, and ensure data confidentiality
Requirements:- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- English proficiency and at least one European language (mandatory)
- Understanding of payroll fundamentals and payroll cycle processes
- High accuracy in data entry, input preparation, and validation
- Good Excel skills and experience with HRIS/ payroll systems/ case management tools
- Ability to follow SOPs, calendars, checklists, and approval rules
- Understanding of local payroll inputs, deductions, time data, and statutory reporting
- Strong customer service, communication, and follow-up skills
- High level of confidentiality, reliability, and respect for sensitive employee data
- Good time management and ability to work under payroll cut-off deadlines
