We are looking for a Data Scientist/ Operations Research Analyst who will join an international transportation company and be a part of a forward-thinking team.
Developing and implementing mathematical models to optimize logistics processes, such as route planning, inventory management, and warehouse operations
Designing and improving algorithms, for example for dynamic scheduling, load balancing, and resource allocation, etc.
Using statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to forecast demand, supply chain disruptions, and other critical metrics
Developing predictive models to improve inventory management and transportation planning
Developing simulation tools to evaluate the impact of different strategies and scenarios on logistics operations
Providing advanced analytical research to assess potential outcomes of operational changes and to support strategic planning
Working closely with various departments, including operations, IT, and business, to understand their needs and provide data-driven solutions and (co-)develop solutions with other data-literate teams across the globe
Communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management, through clear storytelling, presentations and detailed reports
Conducting research and development and identifying opportunities for designing solutions to solve complex operations problems, lift constraints, and maximize the strengths of the operations
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field or relevant discipline or equivalent in proven experience
Proficiency in mathematical modeling, optimization techniques, and statistical analysis
Preferable programming skills in Java and Python
Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or similar
The ability to analyze complex problems, develop strategies, and implement effective solutions
Desirable-experience with simulation modelling and decision support systems
Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in operations research, data science, or a related analytical role, ideally within supply chain, logistics or transportation area
Excellent communication skills,
English - fluent (both verbal and written), with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
The ability to innovate and think creatively and strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality
Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
