Are you prepared to drive the foundation of the Cold End deliveries of new machines for all ROCKWOOL factories worldwide, greenfield and brownfields?

Your Future Team:

You will become part of Group Technology Cold End. We are a diverse team of presently 15 individuals. We represent 6-7 different nationalities across 3 locations, mainly in Denmark and Poland. We have expertise in mechanical, electrical, automation and process engineering as well as project management.

What you will be doing:

As Mechanical Engineer, you will begin your career with thorough development and training by working on various projects based in our offices in Poznań, Poland, Hedehusene, Denmark, or at locations worldwide.

It is essential that you are eager to develop a broad skill set, including troubleshooting, optimizing foil-related issues, identifying potential solutions involving robotics, and training operators.

You will become a part of the Cold End team, the Competence Center for production technology and processes related to Cold End and Offline production lines.

Applying your mechanical expertise and design skills, you will help ensure that our Cold End and Offline production lines worldwide have the most competitive, flexible, and safe production platform in the industry. You will participate in a range of projects from small machine deliveries and engineering support on existing lines to large greenfield projects, installing complete production lines in an existing facility or rolling out new lines primarily in Europe, Asia, and North America.

You will be in charge of the mechanical functional equipment supply across all phases of a project, from concept study through specification and design to different tests, commissioning, and after service.

This includes:

  • Managing, identifying, and controlling external suppliers of mechanical equipment with a large extent of automatized.
  • Analyzing issues, setting up requirements, and in a mechanical perspective, reviewing technical 3D designs in AutoCad/Inventor.
  • Verifying the functionality and capacity of the mechanical set-up, and likewise if automation based.
  • Assisting the local Production company or Cold End projects for OPCO by running-in equipment and optimizing the process flow and offering advisory services to the organization.
  • Assessing raw materials (e.g., foils) for the Cold End to ensure their capability and sustainability for new projects.
  • Documenting process changes and updating relevant procedures and work instructions in line with the document control procedure.
  • Planning, implementing, recording, and reporting trials such as FAT and SAT for Cold deliveries to Local OPCO, including providing conclusions and summaries to relevant personnel.
  • Assisting Maintenance for local OPCO in training on new and revised operating procedures and work instructions alongside addressing breakdowns, offering accurate descriptions, and providing feedback to the Project Manager and equipment suppliers who designed, delivered, and commissioned the equipment.

Although your new desk will be located in the Nowy Rynek building in central Poznań, Poland, you will often travel primarily in Europe but could also be around North America and Asia – mostly to meet with colleagues and suppliers and to supervise the implementation of your projects. You can expect to travel 60-80 days per year, with trips varying from just a couple of days to a few weeks at a time. However, you will rarely be alone.

What you bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automation related field
  • 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical design and technology development or alike within automation
  • Experience with implementing and installing equipment on production facilities
  • Experience in making technical requirement specifications for the required equipment
  • Proactive approach, problem-solver who plans, acts, and thinks ahead
  • Readiness to take the initiative and responsibility for all given tasks from starting point to hand over of the project
  • Can take individual responsibility for your area of expertise but enjoy succeeding as a team
  • Excellent communication skills, and you are fluent in English
  • Experience in setting up specifications for mechanical engineering or automation specifications
  • Knowledge of working in AutoCad/Inventor – an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Knowledge of working with different makes of PLC’s – an advantage, but not a requirement
