Senior Atlassian Administrator (Jira & Confluence)
On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Atlassian Administrator to take ownership of Atlassian platform administration, automation, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Jira (Cloud and/or Data Center) and Confluence environments.
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced automation solutions using Groovy, ScriptRunner, and Automation for Jira.
- Configure and maintain complex workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, issue types, custom fields, and project configurations tailored to business needs.
- Manage and enhance integrations between Jira and other platforms, including Confluence, Bitbucket, and CI/CD tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical, performance, and system-related issues.
- Monitor platform health, perform upgrades, manage licenses, and ensure system stability and availability.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Atlassian products, providing guidance, best practices, and mentoring to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and business teams to improve processes and maximize platform capabilities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience administering Atlassian environments, including Jira and Confluence.
- Advanced knowledge of Jira administration, architecture, and configuration.
- Proven experience with Groovy scripting, ScriptRunner, and Jira automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Jira workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, project configurations, and governance.
- Experience integrating Jira with tools such as Bitbucket, Confluence, and CI/CD platforms.
- Knowledge of Atlassian plugins, marketplace applications, and extension management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise Atlassian environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Atlassian Data Center deployments and migrations.
- Atlassian certifications would be an advantage.
