As a Java Lead Engineer in Java Business Services, you will lead the Krakow-based team, as well as coordinate cooperation with teams located in Dusseldorf, Germany. Those teams together are responsible for the full delivery cycle and support of Regional Platforms. Java Lead Engineer is responsible for managing and coaching an internal agile Java development team throughout the entire software development life cycle. As a central contact, you are the interface between business and IT, working together with the development team on individual software solutions, manage the development, delivery, and subsequent operation.
Payments and trading team responsibility is development of new features and maintenance of a suite of web payments and trading applications, as well as batch applications. Applications work in conjunction with other regional systems exchanging data via messaging systems and shared databases.
Technologies used by the Master Data team include: Java SE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, GCP, Redis, REST APIs, Jenkins, Angular.
Currently HSBC is heavily investing in an Agile culture with adoption of DevOps processes, CI/CD pipeline and Cloud Technologies. Germany Technology is in ongoing transition into a new structure of Java development team in Krakow as part of a long-term strategy to develop and support its platform in Germany. Java Lead Engineer will take ownership support of current applications as well as migration of legacy ones to new technologies.
responsibilities :
Oversee and manage the development pod located in Krakow.
Lead adoption of DevOps and Agile principles and culture.
Work closely with product owners from the business, IT specialists of various disciplines, IT architects and IT management.
Analyse technical and non-technical requirements and provide service-oriented advice to stakeholders.
Design robust technical solutions and processes and realize them with modern agile methods.
Actively participate in the service management community, engaging in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Delivery.
Understand yourself as a leader focusing on ensuring a healthy and motivating working atmosphere in the team.
Support the development team at the same level for code-level development and analysis activities.
Develop observability tools and techniques for monitoring, alerting, incident detection, response, capacity management, and release safety.
requirements-expected :
Experience in leading and motivating small to medium development teams.
4+ years of experience in developing, supporting, distributed systems written in Java.
Ability to design and develop applications using Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
Experience as a Java software developer, good knowledge of current Java technologies/frameworks and DevOps Tools.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to present, present and communicate problems and technical issues in a clear manner across areas and disciplines.
Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective and orientation to high result structured and independent working method.
Experience in application lifecycle management tooling: JIRA/Connfluence, CI/CD automation, Service Now.
Business-ready English language skills, German language skills are a plus. Excellent communicator.
