The opportunity
We are looking for a talented individual to be part of the IT Operational Vendor Management Team. There are multiple vendors supporting Hitachi Energy operations across departments, and the role of IT Vendor Manager is to create and manage positive relationships with vendors through a consistent portfolio framework. How you’ll make an impact
- Collaborates closely with Hitachi Energy IT and IT Finance Teams to monitor productivity and consumption against contractual obligations to ensure and improve overall effectiveness of vendor provided services.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for all IT suppliers and Hitachi Energy stakeholders involved in the overall vendor management process.
- Is the Process Owner for all vendor management portfolio related processes: Supplier Onboarding, Financial Management, Consumption Validation, Governance, Risk and Issue Management, Contract Deliverables and Obligations Management, and any other operational related activities.
- Supplier Onboarding: Coordination and execution of relevant tasks related to vendor onboarding and offboarding process to ensure timely and contractually agreed payments for delivered services or goods. Building relationships with new vendors to ensure effective collaboration.
- Financial Management: Develop, own, and improve the efficiency and transparency of the vendor finance and invoicing process. Validates accuracy of financial data, coordinates with AP teams to ensure invoices are paid within the appropriate timelines according to payment terms, and is accountable for the invoicing process ensuring delivery against timelines.
- Consumption Validation: Validating monthly consumption of the services delivered by vendors based on the contractual obligations and timelines. Alignment with respective Hitachi Energy stakeholders in case of any discrepancies or disputes. Works with the vendor management team to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance and identify trends, provides information to all relevant stakeholders, assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports, and making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Governance Management: Creates a model that defines the governance structure & roles and responsibilities of both parties to maintain a working relationship; the type, content, and frequency of review meetings that will be held.
- Contract Deliverables and Obligations Management: Tracking any end-results that a product or service provider is obligated to provide to a customer.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive the continuous improvement activities by means of root cause analysis and pattern analysis of key vendor issues; collaboration with cross-functional internal and external functions to aid the design and implementation.
Your background
- Masters/bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in Vendor Management/ IT Service Delivery/ Operation or Finance.
- Detail-oriented team player with the ability to effectively adhere to deadlines.
- Must be able to interpret and communicate complex financial subjects.
- Good knowledge of ITSM tools (ServiceNow), MS Office Products.
- ITIL Foundation certificate is a plus.
- Lean Six Sigma Certificate is a plus.
- Excellent business writing and presentation skills in English.
