IT Project Manager (Energy Sector) - Warsaw
About the Project:
- We are looking for an IT Project Manager for long-term collaboration on a part-time basis (expected weekly commitment: approx. 2.5 days, flexible working hours).
- Location: 100% remote
- Duration: 03/2025 – 06/2027
- A cost-sharing initiative is being implemented within the Capacity Calculation Region (CCR) Core, involving 16 Transmission System Operators (TSOs) across 13 European countries. This initiative is a key component of the cross-border redispatching and countertrading coordination mechanism under the Regional Operational Security Coordination (ROSC) framework.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management and Coordination
- Close Collaboration: Partner with the BPM and PO to drive project delivery, achieving goals within scope, time, and budget.
- IT Project Leadership: Lead IT-related activities, aligning them with project strategy.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Ensure alignment across business and IT subteams.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, managing timelines and quality standards.
- Stakeholder Communication and Decision-Making Support
- Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly update the internal PSC on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- External Reporting: Act as the primary IT liaison for external PSC members and vendor executives.
- PSC Support: Prepare materials, including status reports, risk assessments, and milestone updates, for PSC decision-making.
- IT Project Planning and Execution
- Roadmap Development: Define project milestones, deliverables, and schedules for tools with the IT Architect and Data Engineer.
- Risk and Quality Management: Work with the Q&A/Test Manager to ensure high standards.
- Tool Development Oversight and Technical Coordination
- Technical Oversight: Manage CSV tool development and adaptation, coordinating with the IT subteam.
- Data Integration and Automation: Oversee the integration of test data automation and data compatibility with the central cost-sharing tool.
- Quality Assurance and Testing: Coordinate testing cycles with the Q&A/Test Manager to meet functional and performance standards.
- Tool Management: Oversee the use of project management and development tools to ensure effective usage for tracking, version control, and deployment.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to optimize tool performance, usability, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation in line with the company’s PM framework, ensuring compliance with project standards.
Requirements:
- Technical Proficiency
- Project Management Certification: PMP or similar required.
- Agile Development Certification: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Agile Project Manager or equivalent to support agile project delivery.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT systems integration and automation, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure.
- Testing Standards: Familiarity with ISTQB or similar certification preferred.
- Collaborative Workspace Tools: Experience using collaborative workspace tools (e.g., Confluence) for documentation, knowledge sharing, and project coordination.
- Project Management Experience
- IT PM Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an IT PM in complex software projects, ideally in the energy sector.
- Energy Sector Expertise: Experience with transmission system operators (TSOs) or energy grid management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across IT and business teams.
- Vendor Management Skills: Experience managing vendors in high-stakes projects.
- Leadership and Communication Skills
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication skills across internal and external steering committees.
- Problem-Solving and Risk Management: Strong analytical skills in project risk mitigation.
- Documentation and Reporting: Skilled in creating comprehensive documentation and reports.
- Language and Soft Skills
- Languages: Fluency in English required (German language skill is an asset).
- Adaptability and Organization: Ability to manage complex dependencies and competing priorities in dynamic environments.
- Additional Skills:
- Sector Knowledge: Experience in IT projects related to redispatching processes and cost sharing in the energy sector is an asset.
- Experience with German TSOs: Familiarity with German TSO processes (4ÜNB) is advantageous.
