The IT Director will be responsible for architecting and overseeing the end-to-end technology ecosystem supporting our venture studio’s diverse portfolio of biotech products and solutions. This individual will manage a blended team of in-house and outsourced developers, systems engineers, AI/ML experts, and security professionals to ensure that our IT infrastructure and software platforms are scalable, secure, and optimized for rapid product development and market growth. The ideal candidate brings both technical depth and strategic vision, enabling the timely deployment of reliable solutions while partnering closely with Discovery, product management, and business leadership.
responsibilities :
1.Technology Strategy & Leadership:
Define and execute the overall technology roadmap that aligns with the venture studio’s short-term initiatives and long-term growth plans.
Serve as a strategic partner to product development teams, contributing technical insight into feasibility, platform selection, architecture decisions, and innovation strategies.
Identify emerging technologies—particularly in AI, data analytics, and software engineering—that can accelerate product development cycles and improve market competitiveness.
2.IT Operations Management:
Oversee daily IT operations, including network infrastructure, cloud environments, hardware, software, and support services, ensuring high performance and minimal downtime.
Implement best-in-class IT service management processes, tools, and methodologies for incident response, change control, and continual improvement.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (GDPR, AI Act, Data Act etc.), and leverage automation to streamline operational workflows and costs.
3.Software Development & AI Integration:
Manage an integrated team of software engineers, data scientists, and AI/ML specialists to develop, test, and deploy scalable applications.
Establish DevOps and MLOps pipelines, adopting continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) best practices to accelerate release cycles.
Guide the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven tools to enhance product capabilities, improve R&D productivity, and inform data-driven decision-making.
4.Data Security & Compliance:
Lead the development and implementation of robust cybersecurity strategies, policies, and controls to protect intellectual property, patient data, and proprietary research findings.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, including GDPR guidelines, and other data protection laws that apply to biotech ventures.
Monitor and refine security protocols, conduct regular risk assessments, and direct incident response efforts in collaboration with external security partners.
5.Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with cross-functional teams (Discovery, R&D, Product, Business Development, Finance, Legal) to align technology goals with organizational objectives.
Communicate complex technical concepts to executive leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding and buy-in for technology initiatives.
Foster a culture of innovation, mentorship, and continuous learning within the IT organization and across the company.
requirements-expected :
1.Education & Experience:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with a proven track record in biotech, healthcare, or a similarly regulated industry.
Demonstrated experience managing complex software development initiatives, deploying AI/ML solutions, and maintaining secure, compliant IT environments.
Proficiency in English is required.
2.Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure), DevOps / MLOps practices, and modern software engineering methodologies.
Familiarity with data security frameworks, encryption standards, and identity management solutions.
Expertise in integrating AI/ML tools, data pipelines, and analytics platforms to support product innovation and R&D activities.
