Overview
Head of SSBI Business Risk Management Poland, Head of SSBI GD BRM and Global Lead of Lift outs, Transition and Change Management role at State Street. This role is part of Global Delivery and the SSBI BRM and GD Global Business Risk Management leadership teams. While advertised for Krakow, candidates based in Gdansk will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Acting as a valued partner to the Poland Business in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk
- Ensuring that the BRM framework, principles and methodologies for identifying, analyzing, monitoring and minimizing business risks are consistent and adopted by the Poland leadership teams in close alignment with the SSBI and the global GD BRM organization
- Delivering the overall strategy of the Lift Out, Transition and Change function for the global GD organization, collaborating with the wider global GD BRM organization and GD Business
- Applying in-depth domain knowledge in risk/compliance, process and control reviews, change risk management, problem-solving, and knowledge of the financial industry and State Street products and services
- Leading with the ability to operate in ambiguity and translate risk and control requirements into Poland and Global Delivery Strategy
- Engaging with senior business stakeholders across the global organization to offer creative solutions that meet all party requirements
- Proven track record in leading and driving risk and control strategies
Role Definition
- Providing strategic and tactical leadership on the effectiveness of the risk and control environment, remediation of risk areas, and maintenance of an effective Lift-out, Transition and Change function
- Understanding the organization’s strategy and critical success factors to enable challenge and reporting of the Poland and GD risk profile and potential operational exposures, and monitoring risk reduction
- Collaborating with Global Delivery BRM to ensure appropriate coverage within global BRM programs as relates to Poland, and delivering strategic outputs for the GD BRM Lift-out, Transition and Change Function
- Coordinating with internal departments, regulators, and other external parties on non-financial risk matters as they relate to Poland and Global Delivery Poland to align with firmwide risk and control objectives
- Supporting the implementation of globally consistent risk and control practices
- Developing the team of business risk professionals who partner with Poland and GD leaders to deliver risk excellence in all operational activities
- Creating or working closely with the core disciplines of the Business Risk Management function

Role
The Global Delivery – Poland Head of Business Risk Management and Global Lead of Lift outs, Transition and Change Management will possess and/or demonstrate:
- Over 15 years experience within financial services or risk management
- Enterprise leadership skills managing risk across regions
- Experience interfacing at a senior level with clients, service providers and regulators
- Strong team leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication and presentation skills
- Focus on talent management, optimizing technology and managing operational risk
- Energy and commitment to service quality and client delivery
- Strategic thinking, managing complexity, change and multiple priorities
- A relevant graduate degree or masters qualification

- Willingness for regular business travel
