THE ROLE

The Global Communications Manager is accountable for shaping and delivering a coherent, impactful communication strategy that strengthens the group’s reputation and fosters trust among key stakeholders. This role ensures transparent, consistent, and engaging communication flows both internally — with employees and leadership — and externally with stakeholders such as local communities, job applicants, authorities, media, NGOs, and shareholders. By driving alignment across messages and channels, the Global Communications Manager enables the organization to tell its story effectively, support business objectives, and build long‑term stakeholder relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, own, and implement the group communication plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and supporting the communication needs of sites, functions, and the Board of Management (BoM).
  • Design and implement processes, policies, procedures, and KPIs for effective internal and external communication, ensuring compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage agreements with external service providers and coordinate closely with the communication departments of our shareholders.
  • Support employer branding initiatives in close collaboration with the People & Organization team.
  • Strive for operational excellence and cost-effectiveness within the function, while fostering innovation and best practices.
  • Define the functional strategy, objectives, and resource requirements in alignment with the CEO and group vision, mission, and policies.
  • Propose and manage the communication budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to deliver high‑impact communication activities.
  • Supervise the rollout of functional policies, processes, and practices across the group, ensuring compliance with local regulations and seamless collaboration with OpCo management teams.
  • Oversee all group communication activities—internal and external—including events, social media, newsletters, press releases, town halls, external reports, website, crisis communication, perception audits, and public affairs exposure.
  • Ensure consistent alignment and coordination with shareholder communication departments.
  • Drive the implementation and optimization of internal control processes, ensuring follow‑up, compliance, and continuous improvement across the function.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of managerial experience across all areas relevant to the role.
  • Excellent command of English (native level preferred); additional languages are an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in shaping, implementing, and executing global and multi‑market communications strategies.
  • Proven expertise in media relations, government/policy communications, and employee engagement.
  • Experience advising and supporting senior leaders in both internal and external communications.
  • Strategic content development skills across a wide range of formats, including press releases, executive speeches, thought leadership, social media, newsletters, and internal communications.
  • Ability to drive communications initiatives effectively in fast‑paced, resource‑constrained environments.
  • Employer Branding expertise, with proven experience in co‑developing EB strategies in close partnership with People & Organization (P&O).
  • Broad communications experience within the chemical and/or automotive industries is a strong asset.
  • High level of digital literacy and technology fluency.
  • Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset and resilience in navigating challenges.
  • Consistently focused on achieving results and driving impact.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain influential networks.
  • Brings creativity and innovative thinking to problem‑solving and strategy development.
