For one of our clients – a global engineering and consulting company with Canadian roots – we are currently looking for candidates for the Buyer/Purchasing Agent position to support international projects. The organization has a strong hub in Katowice and delivers projects across industries such as energy, infrastructure, and natural resources. The company combines engineering expertise with a modern approach to data and technology, offering work in a truly international environment.
Your new role
Expedite all project equipment, materials, and documents in line with the expediting plan
Monitor vendor engineering and manufacturing schedules, proactively addressing potential delays.
Ensure reporting data is complete and accurate.
Coordinate packing lists, delivery documentation, and any export-related paperwork.
Issue all required release documentation as per the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
Communicate with clients, vendors, and project teams to resolve expediting issues.
Maintain project schedules through effective coordination using iPas MP or other reporting tools.
Work with Vendor Quality Surveillance to ensure timely inspections and manage Non-Conformity Reports efficiently.
Collaborate with logistics to arrange deliveries according to purchase order and Incoterms requirements.
Close out all purchase orders in compliance with project-specific procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
Relevant technical qualification or trade qualification in relevant discipline
6+ years’ experience as an Expeditor with a proven track record
High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials, fabrication processes and supply items
Ability to confirm that delivery dates of materials and supply items comply with all requirements
Ability to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives and strong deliverable focus
Knowledge of preservation and packaging procedures to ensure that transported materials or items are free from damage and to ensure that materials or items to be shipped are marked, packaged and preserved in accordance with all requirements
Working knowledge of SmartPlant system (or similar) is advantageous.
Excellent understanding of project execution, especially materials management, scheduling, procurement, contracting, pre-operational verification, commissioning methodologies and risk assessment
English- advanced
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 19011
Knowledge and compliance with all regulations and legislative requirements
