Overview
The Director of Group Real Estate & Engineering is responsible for the strategic development, operational excellence, and sustainability of the Group’s physical infrastructure, including real estate, engineering & maintenance, administration operations, health & safety, and operational sustainability. The role ensures cost-efficient and future-ready facilities that support the growth of courier, hub, and fulfilment networks across PL, CZ, SK, SI and further expansions, while embedding ESG standards, H&S compliance, and innovation in delivery infrastructure. This is a pivotal leadership position overseeing large-scale network expansion, long-term lease negotiations, engineering projects, and administration operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency across the Group.
Responsibilities
- Logistics infrastructure development – plan, build, and relocate depots, hubs, and fulfillment centers, ensuring scalability and cost efficiency across the group.
- APM network ownership – full responsibility for installation, energy supply, construction works, maintenance, and lifecycle management of automated parcel machines.
- Engineering & maintenance – oversee facility engineering, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to secure operational continuity and minimize downtime.
- Fleet management – manage company fleet operations, including vehicle lifecycle, utilization, servicing, and cost optimization to ensure safe and efficient transport.
- Health & Safety – establish and enforce group-wide H&S standards, ensure compliance with local legislation, run trainings, and foster a safety-first culture.
- Sustainability & ESG – reduce energy consumption and CO₂ footprint, implement green energy solutions, and support sustainable fleet and real estate practices.
- Administration operations – unify processes across logistics locations, manage budgets and cost settlement, oversee vendor contracts and network-related procurement.
- Strategic partnership – support COO and senior leadership in major investment decisions, cross-country projects, and long-term operational planning.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in property management, engineering, operations, or a similar role, preferably in a company with a large and distributed logistics network.
- Proven experience in developing and managing extensive infrastructure (warehouses, logistics centers, offices).
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, project management, and contract negotiation.
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations, preferably in an international context.
- Understanding of ESG strategies and experience implementing them.
- Ability to manage complex budgets and optimize costs.
- Ability to build and manage teams, as well as effectively assign responsibilities.
- Fluent English – working in an international environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proactive, independent, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel.
