About the role

We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Chief Accountant to co‑lead statutory accounting, compliance, and group reporting for Hünnebeck Polska, together with the Finance Director.

In this key leadership position, you will ensure the accuracy of local books, support US GAAP reporting to the headquarters, and act as a reliable financial partner to the Management Board and regional finance teams.

Your responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations in line with Polish Accounting Standards and US GAAP.
• Support the Finance Director in month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate statutory and group reporting.
• Supervise and develop a local accounting team (3 people) and coordinate cooperation with our SSC/GBS teams in India.
• Prepare and review monthly group reporting packages in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring consistency between local and group accounts.
• Oversee tax compliance (CIT, VAT, WHT, property tax, deferred tax) and ensure adherence to both local and group policies.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax authorities, and corporate finance teams to ensure compliance and smooth audit processes.
• Provide financial insights and support to the Finance Director and Management Board in decision‑making and planning.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation, and implementation of accounting best practices.

Requirements

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a senior accounting position within an international or US‑based organization.
• Strong knowledge of Polish GAAP and familiarity with US GAAP reporting principles.
• Experience in managing full accounting and closing processes.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle or similar).
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented approach and attention to detail.
