Business Financial Controller (UK + US)

Your responsibilities

• Act as a strategic finance partner to the Affiliate General Manager and local leadership team.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles, ensuring timely and accurate monthly reporting.
• Provide proactive financial insights to support business decisions, cost optimization, and performance improvements.
• Manage and enhance the accuracy and integrity of accounting records in compliance with Italian GAAP and IFRS.
• Oversee cash flow planning, credit risk, and treasury functions in collaboration with HQ.
• Collaborate with external accountants and manage tax, legal, and audit obligations, including year-end closing and financial statement preparation.
• Drive improvements in reporting systems, tools, and internal controls to increase efficiency and transparency.
• Lead or support strategic projects such as affiliate expansion, financial system upgrades, or banking relationships.
• Deliver clear, concise, and insightful financial presentations to stakeholders.
• Coordinate and ensure compliance with local legal, fiscal, and statutory requirements.
• Serve as a liaison with banks and financial institutions.

Our requirements

• 5-6 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 2–3 years in external audit and 2-3 years as a finance/commercial controller.
• Strong command of P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow management.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus (MSD365)
• Solid knowledge of IFRS.
• Proficient English communication skills (written and verbal).
• A self-starter with high integrity, ownership mentality, and a business-oriented mindset.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; capable of working cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
• High level of professionalism, including dependability, accountability, and attention to detail.

We are seeking a highly driven Finance Manager or Business Finance Controller to take on a true Business Partner role in growing start-up companies in UK and NNA. In this position, you will work closely with the Affiliate General Managers and cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and operational excellence across our Italian affiliate, Matex Lab Italia Srl.

This role goes beyond traditional finance functions — you will be instrumental in streamlining financial processes, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and IFRS, and providing strategic insights that directly support growth and expansion. Your financial acumen, commercial mindset, and ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations will make you a key driver of success.
