Offer Description
According to the Polish regulations, Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Institute of Civil Engineering, is searching for a candidate for the associate professor position.
The candidate is obliged to have at least a habilitation degree in the field of engineering and technology, in the discipline of civil engineering, geodesy and transport. The candidate will be responsible for conducting classes related to building engineering and construction design. The classes will be held in Polish and English.

Skills/Qualifications
- Post-doctoral (habilitation) degree in the field of engineering and technology (civil engineering).
- Excellent proficiency in Polish and English (at least B2 level) in both speech and writing.
- Knowledge and practical skills necessary to conduct teaching activities in the field of sustainable construction, protective construction, special construction, and temporary shelter facilities, in both Polish and English.
- Willingness to supervise diploma theses and professional consultations in the areas of architectural and construction design, sustainable construction, protective construction, special construction, temporary shelter facilities, as well as related subjects, conducted in the Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Safety Engineering studies.
- International research activity, including the completion of an internship at a foreign research institution (additional asset).
- Very good knowledge of MS Office and design programs, including AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit.
- Unlimited building licence to design in the architectural speciality and in the structure and construction speciality.
- Ability to work in a team and flexibility, including readiness to conduct classes in non-stationary mode, on weekends.
- Publication of at least 25 scientific articles or scientific monographs, published in journals or publications listed in the current list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the year of publication, including at least 15 scientific articles in journals from the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database. After obtaining a habilitation degree, a minimum of 5 scientific articles or scientific monographs are required, published in journals or publications listed in the current list for the year of publication, including at least 3 scientific articles in journals from the JCR database.
- Previous or ongoing leadership of a research project or submission of a research project proposal to institutions funding research.
- Supervision of at least one doctoral dissertation or proceedings related to obtaining a doctoral degree, or providing scientific guidance as a doctoral supervisor in a doctoral school, including the preparation of at least one review of a doctoral dissertation or in the habilitation procedure.
- Obtaining a positive opinion on the didactic classes from a committee responsible for didactic issues; for applicants not employed by SGGW, a positive opinion for a scientific lecture presented at a seminar organized in the Institute of Civil Engineering, SGGW.
Specific Requirements
The position covers three main areas: research, teaching, and scientific cooperation. The candidate should conduct classes on sustainable and protective construction, as well as related subjects. The candidate should also give instructions to the students’ work concerning those subjects. The classes will be held in Polish and in English language. Minimum 210-hour contract per academic year.
