Job Description

About the Company

You’ll be joining a globally recognised fit-out and refurbishment business operating within the UK’s premium commercial interiors market. The company delivers exceptional design and construction projects across workplace, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use environments — combining innovative design with precision delivery.

Their UK division, headquartered in London, is known for its capability to deliver high-quality Cat A and Cat B fit-outs and refurbishments for major clients and blue-chip occupiers. With the backing of a well-established international group, the UK team benefits from global expertise while maintaining the agility and culture of a dynamic, collaborative business.

This is an organisation built on professionalism, innovation, and integrity — a company where people are genuinely valued, supported, and developed.

About the Role

We’re seeking an Assistant Estimator to join the pre-construction and estimating team within the UK division.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career experience in estimating or cost planning who is keen to develop within a leading international fit-out business.

Working closely with Senior Estimators and Project Managers, you’ll support the preparation of competitive tenders, assist in pricing strategies, and help manage supply chain engagement across a variety of commercial interior projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions for fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • Supporting the compilation of cost plans, take-offs, budgets and pricing models.
  • Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to gather and analyse quotations.
  • Helping with value engineering and procurement strategy development.
  • Supporting bid presentations, ensuring commercial clarity and accuracy.
  • Maintaining and updating cost databases and historical pricing records.
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure alignment between estimating, design and delivery.
  • Assisting in post-tender reviews and project handovers to pre-construction and delivery teams.

Rewards & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary (depending on experience) plus annual bonus opportunities.
  • Based in modern London offices with flexible hybrid working options.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of commercial interior projects across the UK.
  • Structured career progression and mentoring from senior estimating professionals.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Generous holiday allowance and contributory pension scheme.
  • Private healthcare and wellbeing initiatives.
  • A supportive, inclusive culture that promotes collaboration, learning and innovation.
  • Long-term career stability within a well-established global construction business.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years’ experience in an estimating, cost planning or commercial role within construction or fit-out.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A good understanding of construction processes and interior fit-out trades.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence engaging with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • A proactive, professional and team-oriented attitude.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline (but not essential).
  • Based in or within easy reach of London, with flexibility to visit sites and attend meetings as required.
