About The AI Team At Relativity

Relativity is heavily investing in developing new AI products and features for our customers. Our team spans many areas across Relativity Engineering, including data engineering, ML Ops, applied science, and product-focused feature teams for the Relativity One AI suite of products.

About The Applied Scientist, Generative AI Role

The Applied Scientist, Generative AI will develop generative and machine-learning products for the eDiscovery industry in close collaboration with our applied science, product, design, and engineering teams. You will use your experience in applied science to build models that help legal professionals organize data, discover the truth, and act on it. Relativity is the recognized leader of AI in eDiscovery and the builder of the market’s leading product, Relativity One. As an Applied Scientist, you will contribute to our balanced portfolio of research, development, and operation of transformational generative AI technologies according to the responsible AI approach laid out by our AI Principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop machine‑learning models and algorithms to be released as new product features.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop production‑level code and contribute to the entire model deployment lifecycle.
  • Contribute to developing internal standards, processes, and tooling for leveraging generative AI.
  • Collaborate with Product to assemble and synthesize datasets for evaluation and model‑building.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline, and 2 years of relevant industry experience (or the equivalent of 4 years of relevant academic/industry experience).
  • Analytical skills and solid understanding of machine learning concepts, experience in the full model development lifecycle.
  • Experience with generative AI models and leveraging them as part of more complex systems to solve domain‑specific tasks.
  • Proficient in programming and scripting in Python.
  • Intentional communicator – uses inclusive language whenever possible, communicates data science concepts to colleagues of all backgrounds, uses technical vocabulary judiciously and with intention.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Kubernetes container‑based development tooling and processes.
  • Experience in building and evaluating information retrieval or search solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the MS Azure offering, with emphasis on ML and analytics products.
  • Comfortable with command‑line tools in UNIX environments.
  • Legal industry experience, or interest in the legal industry and justice system.

Compensation

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long‑term incentives. The expected salary range for this role is between 182,000 and 274,000 PLN.
