What you’ll do
- Supporting the analysis, planning and execution of optimisation/rightsizing tactics, working with business-aligned IT functions to optimise their on-premise infrastructure (servers, storage, database, mainframe, PC’s) consumption and spend.
- Tracking benefits achieved through rightsizing, including direct cost impacts, reduced datacentre space, power and carbon needs, and the re-use of relinquished assets (thus deferring additional spend).
- Provision of presentation materials relating to technology usage, charges and optimisation opportunities, comprising data sourced from internal billing systems, infrastructure inventories and utilisation reporting.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Exposure to IT Finance principles, specifically around show-back and/or charge-back, with an understanding of datacentre infrastructure technologies, cost allocations, and recharges for technology services.
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies including data centres, network/communications, server, storage, virtualisation (likely from working within an IT infrastructure function).
- Proven skills with MS Excel (including VLOOKUP & Pivot tables) and MS PowerPoint with ability to present IT financial data in an easy to consume way.
- Analytical background with the ability to proactively create, interrogate, interpret and draw conclusions/ next steps from a data set.
- Experience with charting and other data visualisation techniques, ideally including PowerBi or similar dashboarding tool.
- Strong attention to detail with regards to data quality and data management.
- Can proactively prioritise multiple activities and ensure deadlines are met.
- Team player within an international team.
- Good knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- Good communication and presentation skills.
