The AGE Supervisor leads and trains Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) technicians, performs inspections, maintenance and servicing, and storage of assigned AGE. Maintains and inspects hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and fuel systems including turbine, diesel, and gasoline engine driven AGE. Responsible for day-to-day AGE shop operations and communicates with the AGE Functional Manager and Site Manager to assure work priorities are met. Accomplishes work in accordance with USAF technical data and ensures compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
Essential Responsibilities
- Primary to train AGE mechanics and perform periodic inspection, maintenance, and repair actions on assigned AGE assets.
- Stock, maintain, and requisition parts, tools, and supplies to perform required work on assets.
- Prepare AGE/FLSE and other equipment for exercises or actual deployments.
- Respond to inquiries concerning storage and status of assigned equipment.
- Utilize testing of diagnostic equipment while troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, fuel and pneumatic systems and components for serviceability.
- Prepare and complete documentation including work orders, USAF supply forms, update historical data, and coordinate actions required with work orders.
- Direct maintenance by maintenance action sheets, USAF technical orders and directives.
- Develop standards for subordinates and implement the precept of quality assurance within ISO 9001:2015 QMS; ensure work is completed to quality standards and provide feedback on progress.
- Orient new personnel to work crews, plan work assignments and establish work methods.
- Conduct on-the-job training for AGE mechanics on AGE/FLSE, safety, MSDS, security awareness, and other subjects.
- Prepare and update training records.
- Prepare and inspect assets and equipment for shipment by air, sea, and surface transportation.
- Perform servicing and maintenance of in-use assets and return equipment to mission capable.
- Prepare and submit quality/material deficiency reports and technical order changes as required.
- Operate material handling equipment as required.
- Inspect hazardous materials and coordinate disposal with the appropriate office when required.
- Ensure tools, PPE, facilities, and clothing issued remain safe, secure, and serviceable; report deficiencies.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Perform TDY within the area of operations as required by US Air Force tasking.
- Continuously review safety plans, policies, and programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Participate in safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; ensure employee safety training and education.
- Provide leadership, vision, and resources needed for an effective safety and health program.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Trade school certificate
- Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years actual and recent maintenance experience
- Familiar with most types and uses of AGE equipment
- Electrical/mechanical background
- Familiar with diesel engine maintenance and repair, and HVAC maintenance and repair
- Forklift experience
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- EU resident and/or authorized to work in Poland
Contract Requirements
- Completed training on AGE maintenance from military technical school or an accredited technical school/college/university
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands
Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lit, heated, and ventilated, with exposure to fumes and to cuts and bruises from tools. Hazards include moving vehicles such as forklifts in the shop area. The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, and communicate; often walks, reaches, and may kneel or crouch. May be required to sit, climb, or balance and may taste or smell. Exposed to moving parts, heat, and vibration. May be exposed to wet/humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and risk of electrical shock. Will wear PPE as required. Must be physically capable of performing all duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling at least 50 lbs.
